This is something that I find people do intuitively in many places.

That way, if you're in a real damned hurry, you have an option to get somewhere quick and if you aren't generally in a hurry you can save money. Honestly, that sounds like the correct way to do it. Typical head in the sand Bay Area brain dead elitist. Look outside your privileged little bubble and you'll see not everyone has the privilege to carpool, use public transit, or buy clean air vehicles. And clean-air vehicles don't have to pay and cars with 2 occupants will get a 50% discount. You can't charge people an extra "poor tax" for public utilites, that's wealth discrimination and a cash grab.Įncourage carpooling & public transit. No, it's not going to infrastructure used by everyone, it's going into infrastructure available only for the super wealthy.ĮVERYONE-rich, poor, black, latino, white, asian, middle eastern-pays taxes, out the ass in this state, for these very freeways. Will go toward infrastructure used by everyone For commuters, that's over a thousand bucks a year. It's five bucks and that's every single time you drive on the freeway. I like how you downplay it to "a couple bucks". It is a special lane reserved for the ultra wealthy and privileged. You make it sound like it's a special lane reserved for billionaires I welcome anyone that has any incites into Fastrak and is frustrated by all this as well. Im doing research into all of this but proper information is really hard to come by. I’ve never been this annoyed about an issue and I’m ready to take this as far as I can handle. These Bay Area toll ways are just being implemented so I feel there is still time to fight back. I hate complaining and getting this worked up about this but the fact I don’t see anything online or in the media is concerning ( besides bad reviews🙄). When money, government and private companies become involved, graft becomes rampant. The new carpool-tollway system should not be this bad in the largest pop. I feel like they have a whole system that’s designed to be hard to use so you give up out of frustration. They also had a class action lawsuit that I think wasn’t properly litigated early this year. They have the worst reviews on Google, Yelp, BBB.

The replenishment system is predatory, the website is plagued with redundancies, and it’s impossible to do anything without requiring customer service. Let that sink in for moment…Ī private company is in control of tolling, Fines and Violations that are Linked to your Car thru license plate - DMV and your credit card.

So as far as I can understand, they are a private company with a government contract.
